More Than a Branding Shoot: Rediscovering Myself at 50

These photos are about so much more than a branding shoot.

They represent a woman who has lost 45 pounds, turned 50 and started rediscovering herself in ways she did not expect.

They represent the courage it takes to keep showing up, even when life is busy, complicated and demanding.

Alongside building Paradise and Palm Travel Co., I continue to work as an Educational Assistant in public education, supporting children with complex needs, many of whom are autistic. It is meaningful work that has shaped who I am, how I support families and the kind of travel advisor I want to be.

Building a business while working, raising a family and stepping into a new stage of life has not always been easy. But this season has reminded me that life does not end as we age.

We do not become less valuable, less capable or less worthy of being seen.

We are allowed to reinvent ourselves.

We are allowed to grow, take up space and pursue something that belongs to us.

We are allowed to honour everything we have survived while still becoming excited about what comes next.

I am so grateful to Renee Brown of Sadie Willow Photography for bringing out the very best in me that day. She helped me feel confident, comfortable and fully seen, and I am so thankful for the beautiful images she created.
